Macropiper excelsum var. psittacorum is a cultivar that is similar to M. excelsum but with larger shinier and thicker leaves that are glossy and a deep green and are less prone to insect damage. The dense round shrub can reach a height of 2m and a spread of 1m. Tiny green flowers on spikes will appear in winter or early summer.
