Popular fast growing tree frequently used for hedging or shelter and also useful as a specimen tree.
Pittosporum eugenioides is a native New Zealand tree with a bushy conical shape. The Pittosporum eugenioides is the largest of the New Zealand pittosporums and can reach a height of around 12m. It has a fast growth rate and after five years can reach a height of 3m depending on where it is planted. Also known as lemonwood because of its yellow wavy edged foliage and lemon scented flowers.
The small yellow flowers appear in clusters between October and December. Pittosporum eugenioides naturally grows in regenerating and mature forest in coastal to montane situations.
This pittosporum works great for screening, shelter or in mixed planting. Does best in full sun and well drained soils but is tolerant of most conditions.
