Tight groundcover with button-shaped flowers.

This ground cover is endemic to the North Island and its usual habitat include cliff and rock sites, very tolerant to salt and wind exposure.

Leptinella rotundata is a creeping perennial herb, its rounded leaves are paired ranging in colour from hello-green to sometimes purple-brown towards the base. Its surfaces are covered in long silky hairs.

During the summer months, the flower stems - which are up to 60mm long - appear on both male and female plants and produce a single yellow-green, button-like flower.
