Found on Three Kings and upper North Island. Large glossy green leave, grows up to 3m high.
Pisonia brunoniana, also commonly known as parapara is a small tree native to the North Island of New Zealand, Norfolk Island, Lord Howe and Hawaii. Found naturally growing in coastal forest and is an important component of the under storey in a broad-leaf forest.
The parapara has attractive dark green glossy leaves and distinctive green fruit that is long and extremely sticky. White flowers appear in August through to December in wide angled clusters. The tree can reach a height of 6m and looks great as a specimen tree in any garden.
