Dysoxylum spectabile, also commonly known as Kohekohe is a medium sized native New Zealand tree. Distributed across New Zealand the tree is found growing as a dominant or co-dominant species in warmer coastal to lowland forests. The stout and erect branches give the tree a dense and attractive canopy. The Kohekohe has broad glossy green leaves that make it fit in with any tropical themed garden as well as cauliflorous green and white flowers appearing in March every alternate year.
The quick growing tree can each a height of 15m and thrives in deep moist soils.
